This wonderful race starts mid morning (at 11:00 am ) giving participants the chance to do any other training or family activities before racing.  For beginners it offers a great opportunity to get racing experience in a friendly environment. For the more experienced, it offers a great shot at an early race.  The races hosted by Personal Best, a cross training triathlon club promotes and focuses on fostering friendly participation and camaraderie amongst all participants and several different triathlon clubs and open water swimming organizations.

In conjunction with the X-Terra triathlon there will be two fast open water races taking place in the Kelso Quarry that will give you points for the Global Swim Series. A great way to be prepared for your regular open water and triathlon season. The spring-fed, baby blue waters of the Kelso Quarry is sure to provide a spectacular course whether you are a seasoned athlete or first-timer.

Variety Village Open Water Swim (Sept 12):  This highly successful charity race that in the past couple years has raised tens of thousands of dollars for Variety Village, an all ability facility in Scarborough, Ontario will bring both a great race and a great cause the 2015 GSS schedule.  Located at the gorgeous Buttermilk Falls Resort,  the swim itself offers a fantastic clear and weedless course.  The resort also has a wood-fuelled hot tub & great beach for racers to enjoy and a charity fundraising dinner provided as well.  For those looking for a scenic weekend getaway that features a great race for a great cause, this one is just for you!
