Here comes a new Canadian Classic open water swim: Traversee du Lac Tremblant on August 2-4, 2019!

The swim is held at the incredible ski resort of Mt Tremblant, Quebec and becomes the 14th GSS race in Canada!  This year will be just the 4th year of the race, but they expect to have over 500 swimmers this year!

Tremblant is also the home of one of the most popular Ironman Triathlons on the North American triathlon circuit… and for good reason, it is an incredibly beautiful location and an amazing resort town.  So expect to see lots of triathletes in for the race!

500 swimmers, 100 kayakers, 3 swimming distances, and 1 magnificent lake!  The distances are:

• Desjardins 1 km
• Go4Fund 3 km
• UltraSwim 12 km

UltraSwim 12km:
This is the big, headline race of the event.  It is challenging and exhilarating – it is you and Mother Nature… all rolled into one.  It’s an epic adventure.  It’s the swim of a lifetime.  Lake Tremblant is 12 km long, so you get to swim the full length. The athletes will be brought by boat to the starting point at the end of the lake, a nice remote area, and along the way you will be able to admire the incredible mountains and an exceptionally beautiful sampling of nature.

During the race, each swimmer will be accompanied by a kayaker who will ensure his or her safety. We have deployed a team that will ensure the supervision and safety of all participants.

The Village in Tremblant is welcoming and a great gathering place for athletes, spectators and exhibitors.  The event is an adventure for the whole family since it is happening at Tremblant, the four-season vacation destination in the heart of the Laurentians, a resort internationally recognized for its accommodations, restaurants, lively all year events and providing all the services needed.

Montreal is just 1 hour and 30 minute drive and Ottawa less than 2 hours. The local airport is located less than 45 minutes from the resort.

This year there will be internationally renowned participants too:
• Bertrand Venturi, World Cup coach, French elite open water swimmer
• Xavier Desharnais, long distance open water swimmer, 1st in Canada & 3rd in the world
• Magali Tisseyre, Canadian professional triathlete and spokeswoman for La Traversée

So come and join us on August 2nd to 4th, 2019, for “La Traversee du Lac Tremblant and the Canada UltraSwim!  An exhilarating moment in nature!
