This Thursday January 26th is Australia Day and what better way to celebrate a land of sun, beautiful beaches and pristine waters than to head to the beach for an open water race!  The Swimland Great Australia Day Swim is a fantastic event taking place at the Middle Brighton Pier, located in Brighton.  The town of Brighton is just an easy drive south of Melbourne.  Melbourne has been a hub for GSS action the past couple years and this season’s new addition of this great holiday race should draw out some large and festive crowds!  The event offers a 650m, 1.4km and 2.5km distance.  In addition there is also live music, prizes and plenty of great food and drinks for swimmers and spectators.  Not to mention some spectacular raffle prizes for finishers as well.

New for Australia Day 2017:

  • Swimmers can enter and compete in the 650m and 1400m Open events for both an individual and a team award – at no additional entry fee.
  • We are now offering a 2500m event (replacing the previous 5km event), to suit a wider range of swimmers.
  • There is plenty of food, awards and random prizes.  All swimmers get entered in a raffle for the grand prize of 5 nights at the Sofitel Resort in Fiji with return airfare.  Click here for more prize info.

Spend your Australia Day the right way, enjoying a fun and festive open water swim!
