King Wolf Swim
Aboutthe swim
Started in 2014, the King Wolf Swim (KWS) is a point-to-point open water swim across the St. Lawrence River/Lake Ontario from Kingston to Wolfe Island, Ontario. The race is held annually in July. With easy accessibility from Toronto, Ottawa and Syracuse, this is a great swim for more experienced open water swimmers! There is a 5km & 11km option. Both options involve a crossing of the St. Lawrence to Wolfe Island, the 11km takes a detour by having swimmers twice loop around Goose Island along the way.
The swim finishes at the General Wolfe Inn, which provides a great locale for spectators and swimmers alike to celebrate their swims over some post-race food and the medal presentations. All swimmers receive a handmade pottery medal from a local artist.
So come on out and complete the swim, enjoy lunch on Wolfe Island, then take the ferry back to Kingston. The race is even sanctioned by Triathlon Ontario.
