If you’re looking for an excuse to check out a fun and exciting race abroad, the Navarino Challenge is it! This event is hosted in Messinia, Greece in the incredible Costa Navarino area.
The Messinia region is known for it’s environmental and social responsibility as well as the amazing local community, and the regions rich history and culture. In an effort to promote a fun and health lifestyle, as well as the region of Messinia, the Navarino Challenge held in this breathtaking background will win you over instantly, it’s not one to miss.
2018 is the first year that the Navarino Challenge is hosting an open water swim competition, and we couldn’t be more excited! The course was designed by the Federal Swimming Coach, Nikos Gemelos in the stunning Navarino Bay. This race is a 1 mile (1.6 km) route that is sure to be both a challenge and beautiful. After the race is over, you won’t want to leave the clear waters of the bay!
If you’re the cheer squad for your swimming friend or family member and want to be involved in other ways, the event also hosts a number of other competitions (over 20 sports events!) including running races; a half-marathon, 10 km, and 5km, a bike ride, tae kwon do, stand up paddling, climbing, golf, basketball, beach volley and many more.So if you weren’t convinced by the Navarino Challenge on its own, you should be by having the opportunity to race two incredible events in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. The Santorini Experience is 1.5 mile swim with a non-wetsuit and wetsuit division, and worth checking out as well.
