Experience a swim in the heart of Paris! What better way to check out one of the most beautiful cities in the world than with an exciting swim race?
Sports Swim Organization is offering a unique swimming experience in the heart of Paris and the event is open to all, regardless of swimming level or age (from 12 years-old for the 1 km race with parental consent for those under 18).
The festival, which is now in its 5th edition, is the largest open water event in Paris with over 2,000 participants last year and expected to grow even more this year!
This year's edition of Open Swim Stars Paris will be held once again in the Canal de l’Ourcq and the Bassin de la Villette, and offers several races from 1 km to 10 km, and a new 11.5 km swimrun. In other words, a wide range of short and long-distance races for those who like challenges and urban exclusive experiences!
The Bassin de la Villette has very easy access for example from London via the Eurostar is only a short distance away from the Gare du Nord (3 underground stops), also on the line to the two main Parisian airports. You can either enjoy a few days visiting Paris or plan a round trip the same day. Foreign swimmers will need a valid FINA / ITU licence or a medical certificate allowing open water competitions.
Entries are now open and limited to 2,500 participants. Wetsuits are optional as the water temperature is typically over 16°C. The Saturday afternoon features the 10 km, the 5 km and the swimrun and the Sunday morning has the 1 km & 2 km. The race is part of the Open Swim Stars Tour, which includes 8 other events in other iconic French cities : Lyon, Toulouse, Strasbourg, the French Riviera…
