Harmonie Mutuelle: Open Swim Stars - Paris
Experience a swim in the heart of Paris! What better way to check out one of the most beautiful cities in the world than with an exciting swim race?
Sports Swim Organization is offering a unique swimming experience in the heart of Paris on 16 and 17 June 2018. The event is open to all, regardless of swimming level or age (from 12 years-old for the 1km race with parental consent for those under 18). The festival, which is now in its 4th edition, is the largest open water event in Paris with over 1,500 participants last year and over 2,000 expected this year. The 2018 edition of Open Swim Stars Paris will be held once again in the Canal de l’Ourcq and the Bassin de la Villette, and offers several races from 1km to 5km, and a new 10 km swim for long-distance specialists and those who like challenges! The Bassin de la Villette very easy access from London via the Eurostar is only a short distance away from the Gare du Nord (3 underground stops). You can either enjoy a few days visiting Paris or plan a round trip the same day. Foreign swimmers will need a valid FINA / ITU licence or a medical certificate.
Entries are now open and limited to 2,500 participants. Wetsuits are optional as the water temperature is typically over 16°C. The Saturday features the 10km and 5km and the Sunday has the 1km & 2km. The race is part of the Open Swim Stars Tour, which includes 5 other events in other iconic French cities.
