The Swim For Kids is back and continues a busy summer lineup for the Global Swim Series in Canada. A relatively new swim race introduced in Kingston, ON, the Swim For Kids offers a 1.5km and 3km swim in Lake Ontario and even includes a post-swim breakfast along with the awards ceremony. The 2018 edition of the swim will take place on August 11th.
The swim is headed up by open water swimming legend Vicki Keith and is an event to raise money for children with physical disabilities served through the Easter Seals Ontario and the YMCA in Kingston. Swimmers 12 and over of all ages and abilities come out to compete in this exciting swim.
Not only is this swim offer a fun and exciting venue for a great cause, but did we mention there are also some incredible prizes as well? There is over $10,000 worth of prizes available for fundraisers to win that have been generously donated by members of the surrounding community. The top prize which is sure to get a few people excited is a 9 day kayaking trip for 2 in Costa Rica donated by Merit Travel Kingston. There’s also a 13ft Inuvit Kayak donated by Clear Water Design as well as a mountain bike donated by the folks at JJ Cycle and Chris Carvalho Mortgage Professionals. As if that wasn’t enough there’s also tickets to Canada’s wonderland, Ripley’s Aquarium, golf passes, spa treatments, swim gear and numerous gift cards to local restaurants and pubs to be given away!
