The Riverkeeper 4K is a unique inter-provincial swim in the Ottawa River to highlight the work of the Ottawa Riverkeeper and its goal to protect the health of the Ottawa River.
Starting on the Ontario side swimmers will cross the provincial border on your way to the finish line 4 kilometres across the Ottawa River, finishing in Aylmer, Quebec.
To welcome more athletes, families, and participants of all abilities, we also host two shorter courses: a 1.5km course, for those not yet ready to tackle the 4K, and a 750m course for shorter distance swimmers. These shorter distances both start and finish in Aylmer, Quebec so that all participants can celebrate their finish together.
The Riverkeeper 4k is like another great Ontario swim, the Toronto Island Lake Swim, which is closely tied to the Lake Ontario Waterkeeper. The Global Swim Series and swimmers from all around the world all can get behind a cause like the Riverkeeper 4k!
As a swimmer in the Riverkeeper 4k, you can raise money to support local waterways, challenge the strength of the Ottawa River, and win bragging rights for swimming from one province to another!
