Aboutthe swim

The SwimJunkie group has added another gorgeous race to their portfolio of breathtaking races: SwimJunkie Challenge - Sicogon... an island paradise in the Philippines!

The pictures (and real life too) are so inviting it is really hard to resist.  These pictures are like the pictures you see in a travel magazine and you think to yourself "wow, that looks amazing... how cool would it be to swim there?!"  Well thanks to the 4 SwimJunkie races, you actually can!

Sicogon is a 1,100 hectare island in Northern Iloilo, of which 282 hectares are protected forest and home to the 350 meter high Mount Opao. It is also one of the closest jump-off points to the Gigantes group of islands, a popular Philippine tourist destination.

What Sicogon offers apart from a 3Km, 5Km, or 7Km swim, is a secluded island get-away, excellent seafood (don't forget about the food!), beautiful views care of a solid hour trek to the peak of Mount Opao, and beautiful snorkelling and swimming at the white sand beaches of the Gigantes Islands.

This is the newest and fourth open water swimming destination in the Swimjunkie Challenge series and the first in the Philippine Visayas region. The Visayas is well known for its rich seas, of which Sigocon is a part of.

Accommodations are listed on the registration site. Details on how to get to Sicogon are on our Facebook event page.

We often say, and truly believe, that each of the races in the Global Swim Series have their own charm and attraction.  Some are quaint local swims, others are gigantic mega-swims and some are exotic races in paradise.  This is one of the latter.

So if an amazing life experience, in an exotic tropical island paradise is what you are looking for... sign up now!
