Aboutthe swim

The iconic swim in Auckland Harbour, from Rangitoto Island to St Heliers Beach, now 31 years as an event, the longest running open water swim in New Zealand. Entry number are limited to 500 due to the ability of the ferries to get swimmers to the start line. Rangitoto Island is a predator free zone administered by DOC. Ensure that your clothes/luggage are free of pests before you embark. At 4.6km this swim is across the shipping channel, which is closed/controlled while we swim across, and requires some open water experience to complete, conditions can be from dead calm and flat to a rough water swim, where conditions become unsuitable for safe control for supporting kayakers a substitute course will be used.

There is a trophy (Eagle Technology Cup) for first male and female non-wetsuit and vouchers for first female and male wetsuit.
