Two of the original Global Swim Series events will return in 2015 to secure a very strong Canadian circuit this season.  Both the Toronto Island Lake Swim and the EPIC Open Water Race were members of the Canadian Open Water Swim Series in 2014 (what has now become GSS) and both offer extremely fun and competitive events for swimmers of all abilities.

About the EPIC Swim:  Part of the EPIC weekend that includes triathlon and running events, the EPIC Open Water Swim offers a great racing opportunity in Atlantic Canada with 3 different distances.  A returner to GSS (an inagural member of the Canadian Open Water Swim Series) the EPIC swim offers an early season race in the mild waters of Lake Banook in a swim that is also sanctioned by Swim Nova Scotia.  With plenty of competition, multiple events throughout the weekend and great goody bags the EPIC swim is a great way to kick off your summer racing season!

About the Toronto Island Lake Swim:  Just a short ferry ride from downtown Toronto, the Toronto islands offer a scenic beach and beautiful conditions for this race.  An original member of GSS this event offers a 750m, 1.5km and 3.8km race through crystal clear and crisp water along a sandy beach.  The event celebrates Toronto’s storied history of open water swimming with roots that date back to the 1800s.  The event also actively promotes awareness for keeping Lake Ontario clean through a partnership with the Lake Ontario Waterkeeper Charity.  With a variety of distances, hundreds of swimmers and a festive beach atmosphere the Toronto Island Lake Swim will once again be a marquee open water event in the Toronto area this summer.
